About 20 years ago, there was a restaurant on the Bedford Highway called Tu Do that served excellent Vietnamese food. They left that location, bounced around to at least 2 other locations (including one in Scotia Square) before closing. Their original location has housed several dreadful restaurants since, each one floundering in its own mediocrity until disappearing without a trace, and is now home to an Iranian food market. And–the Tu Do! I noticed on the market’s side door the name, and I’m wondering now if this could be the same place I was introduced to jackfruit juice and vermicelli. I’ll let you know what I find!
