beaujolais nouveau & barolo

…hits the NSLC Thursday.  One of the few reasons to head to the NSLC instead of VinArt. 
Finally bought my first bottle of Barolo today, I’ll be breaking it out for my Christmas Eve Italian buffet.
Barolo is, arguably, the “King of Wines” and the “Wine of Kings”, but it’s not the wine for beginners.  It’s strong personality does not get along with all palates, and in the case of older barolos, very difficult to understand.

I wouldn’t dream of drinking a glass, I don’t do well with tannins–I purchased this bottle specifically to prepare Brasato Al Barolo – Beef Braised in Barolo.  I’ve made this before, but had to settle for other complex, robust reds, and I can’t wait to see how it turns out with the barolo.
