political party
Canada is bracing for something unexpected: an unpredictable election night. My favourite kind. Election nights are big events in our house–drinks, food, a real political party! Not because I’m politically inclined–far from it. I’m just as likely to vote for someone because they have nice teeth as for their party line–I am skeptical of all politician’s ability to effect change…well, maybe except for Danny Williams.
But one thing I do love? Small bites. Appetizers. Finger food. Pick trays. Whatever you call it, grazing over the course of the evening and watching the original reality tv.
Tomorrow night, there’ll be drinks for each leader–Screwdrivers with Orange Crush (obviously), Scotch on the Rocks for the Liberals (Scotch would for the academic, the rocks are self explanatory), Bailey’s and coffee (pour the coffee on top of the Bailey’s and poof! Separation! and our dear PM will be toasted with room temperature water. Bland, but effective.
The food? I don’t want anything too dull, too acidic, too cheesy or corny–so the food certainly won’t be representative of the politicos.
Cheers!
